Compared Against HEPA Air Purifiers
HEPA air purifiers have long been the standard in air purification. The biggest difference between any ionic air purifier and any HEPA air purifier is the filter element. An ionic air purifier attracts solid particles to a bar that must be cleaned off periodically. HEPA air purifiers pass air through a filter that does not allow those same solid air molecules to pass, thereby gathering them in a filter. That filter must then be thrown away and replaced. HEPA air purifiers are much more effective at their job. However, in the long run, they can become extremely expensive. The Ionic Breeze Quadra Air Purifier can be expected to do roughly the same job, only much slower. It also does it without a fan, creating silent operation.
